in den Jahren, in den kein Deutscher unter 2h13 lief, gelang das sehr sicher jedes jahr mehreren Japanern. Zwar ging es nicht in den Bereich um 2h05, aber auch Zeiten unter 2h10 gab es immer wieder.
Bei den frauen gab es bisher 2 Goldene, eine Silberne und eine Bronzemedaille bei olympischen Spielen für Japan. Das ist die beste medaillenbilanz aller Länder - vor Kenia und Äthiopien.
Bei den WMs waren es auch ca. 10 Medaillen für Japanerinnen im Marathon.
Bei den Männern deutlich weniger, aber durchaus beeindruckende Zeiten.
@Dominik: natürlich trainieren deutsche Liefer im Schnitt nicht viel mehr als andere Nationen. Das ist Spekulation.
