Die EM 2018 war ein Sonderfall, weil Heim-EM.
Und ansonsten ist weniger die Größe der Teams an sich das Problem für mich, als dass man neuerdings starrsinnig nach Normen vorgeht (egal ob die von der IAAF/EAA gesetzt wurden oder es vom DLV verschärft) anstatt das Gesamtbild zu beachten, z.B. wo der Sportler damit in der Bestenliste steht.
Das war früher mal anders. Da konnte man auch über manche Nominierungen oder Nichtnominierungen streiten (das bleibt wohl auch nie völlig aus), aber grundsätzlich hat man da beim DLV auch das Große und Ganze im Blick gehabt, und es kamen auch Leute mit, die zwar die Norm nicht haben, dafür aber in der Bestenliste eine gute Platzierung hatten.
Und meiner Meinung nach hat sich das geändert, seitdem Charles Friedek seinen Prozess gewonnen hat. Vielleicht will man ähnliche Fälle in Zukunft vermeiden und will sich über genaue Normen ohne Ausnahmen komplett absichern.
