Das gleiche gilt für Jimmy Vicaut (2x Gold bei U20-EM, 1xBronze bei U20-WM).
Lemaitre und Vicaut sind eine andere Generation und haben mit der U23-EM 2019 nichts zu tun. Dieses Jahr hat zumindest von den Top 10 "nur" Tortu gefehlt. Insofern sind die Ergebnisse was den europäischen Maßstab in der Altersklasse betrifft durchaus aussagekräftig (hinter Tortu).
Die Italiener lagen in der Staffel über sieben Zehntel hinter den Deutschen. Das alleine hätte ein Tortu bei aller Klasse vermutlich auch nicht aufgeholt.
Die Deutschen haben in der Altersklasse die beste Staffel in Europa. Das kann man ruhig so sagen, zumal sie nach den Vorleistungen auch Favoriten waren und das kein Überraschungssieg war wie bei der 4x4. Siehe auch hier zum Vergleich: Europäische Jahresbestenliste U23
Nur gilt es halt jetzt, die Leute noch eine Klasse weiter nach vorne zu bringen. Und das ist dann wieder eine ganz andere Frage, an der sich dann auch der "euphorische" Bundestrainer mal messen lassen muss.
