Die Frage ist doch, was entnehmen wir solchen Laborversuchen?
Vergleicht man Kipchoges WR = 2:01:39 (den der gilt…)
mit dem schnellsten Olympischen Marathon (Wanjiru 2008 Peking) OR = 2:06:32
und dem Laborrennen in Wien = 1:59:40
So muss ich persönlich feststellen, dass das Pacen im Rennen einen substanziellen Vorteil bringt. Selbstverständlich muss man noch berücksichtigen, dass für Wien optimale Bedingungen (auch Wetter) galten und Kipchoge lediglich 1,53% schneller war als in Berlin (auch gute Bedingungen).
Zum OR muss man natürlich sagen, dass die Bedingungen hier selten gut sind (Peking hatte sehr hohe Luftverschmutzung), der Lauf 4,1 % langsamer war als der Berlin-Rekord.
So gesehen, war vielleicht der ungepacte Pekingmarathon unter Berücksichtigung der Umstände der vielleicht am stärksten Einzuschätzende (lor-olli's 2¢…) und angesichts der nur ziemlich genau 2 Minuten die Kip in Wien schneller war als in Berlin, halte ich den Berlinlauf auch für stärker als den von Wien.
Das einzige was hier wirklich bewiesen wurde, war dass Marketing klappt… betrieben von einer Firma der auch betrügerische Maßnahmen gerechtfertigt erscheinen um einen Marketingerfolg zu erzielen (NOP ist nicht vergessen!). Hat jemand mitgestoppt oder wurden die Uhren überprüft? Dopingproben genommen?
