Das könnte z.B. sein:
- DLV sieht die Heim EM in Berlin und die OS 2020 als Höhepünkte des neuen Olympiazyklus. Diese beiden Wettkämpfe müssen geförderte Athleten wahrnehmen bzw. ernsthaft versuchen wahr zu nehmen
- In den anderen Jahren dürfen die Athleten ihre Saisonplanung so ausrichten, dass sie individuell bei den Höhepunkten ihre bestmögliche Leistung bringen. Dazu gehört z.B. eine finanzielle Basis, welche mit durch Städtemarathons geschaffen werden.
Auf Dauer muss es auch im Interesse des DLV seins, dass seine Athleten finanziell vom Sport leben können.
Ja, der Marathon ist wirklich speziell. Vor allem ist der Stellenwert der WM im Marathon eben viel geringer als in den meisten oder soagar allen anderen Disziplinen der LA.
Ein Sieg bei einem Marathon-Major ist deutlich mehr wert als ein WM-Sieg, selbst eine gute Platzierung bei einem Major kann mehr Anerkunng, nicht nur finanzieller Art, bedeuten. Dazu gibt es mit der WMM-Wertung eine Art inoffiziellen Marathon Weltcup.
Von den offiziellen internationalen Wettbwerben sind die olympischen Spiele mit großem Abstand der wertvollste, danach kommt lange nichts, dann ein Sieg in der Gesamtwertung der WMM, dann kommen einzelne Siege bei den großen Marathons und irgendwo weiter unten der WM-Titel.
Für die Europäischen Marathonis ist die EM wirklich wichtiger als die WM, weil da ihre Chancen auf Medaillen einfach so viel höher sind. Zudem gibt es den EM-Marathon auch nur alle vier Jahre.
Daher sollte man auch von DLV-Seite realistisch sein und die WM nicht überbewerten.
Ergänzung: Pfeiffer, Pflieger, Uliczka und Flügel haben auch alle keine WM-Marathon PLäne für 2017. Man dürfte die alle nicht fördern, wenn ein WM-Start das einzige Kriterium wäre.
