Nicht jeder kann bei den "Großen" ankommen. Aber jeder, der als Jugendlicher Erfolg hatte, wird sich gerne daran erinnern. Er wird damit Werbung machen und vermutlich seine Kinder auch zur LA bringen.
Und das halte ich für wichtig, wenn die LA nicht den Bach runter gehen will.
Die großen Athleten sind doch diejenigen, die die Kinder am meisten anziehen, da sie im Fernsehen sind. Man sieht keine U20-Weltmeister im Fernsehen. Tim Lobinger, halte man von ihm was man wolle, war jahrelang das Gesicht der deutschen Leichtathletik, zigmal bei "Wetten dass..?", und hat dort die Werbetrommel für die Leichtathletik besser als jeder andere gerührt.
Jugendathleten sind vielleicht das Bindeglied zwischen den Kindern und den Topathleten und man sollte sie auf keinen Fall vernachlässigen, da sie auch im täglichen Training zugänglicher sind. Aber wenn es um Mitgliedermagneten geht, dann geht kein Weg an den Top-Stars vorbei.
Wie groß ist der Ansturm auf die Leichtathletik nach den Olympischen Spielen? Und warum? Weil Stars im Fernsehen zu sehen sind und keine U20-Weltmeister.
Ich muss noch irgendwo Ratingen erwähnen, damit wir hier nicht off-topic kommen.
