Die meisten Sportinteressierten wissen, dass die French Open im Tennis ein größeres Turnier als die German Open sind. Kaum jemand weiß, dass das Diamond League Meeting in Lausanne höherklassig sein soll als das ISTAF, weil es außer für die Weltranglistenpunkte auch einfach völlig nebensächlich ist.
Letztlich stoßen die Wettbewerbe auf Interesse, bei denen die Zuschauer wissen, was sie bekommen = Olympia, WM, EM, selbst die DM. Bei der Diamond League weiß man das nicht.
Jeder weiss dass Lausanne DL dem ISTAF kilometerweise voraus ist.
Lausanne hat 15000 Zuschauer und liegt im Competitionranking auf Rang 10, das Istaf mag 40000 Zuschauer haben und lag 2023 auf Rang 34 Differenz etwa 7000 Punkte.

Der Unterschied zu Tennis die haben ein klar standardisiertes Verfahren
Grand Slam, Top 1000, Top 500, Top 250 etc und auch die Topathleten müssen 250iger Turniere spielen.
Wir als Experten oder diejenigen die es interessiert wissen es natürlich, dass die Diamond League mehr Wert hat. Aber der Zuschauer, der die Diamond League nicht zu sehen bekommt, für den ist das Istaf was großes, weil es eben im deutschen Fernsehen übertragen wird und ARD bzw. ZDF viel Werbung dafür machen. Und da in Berlin in der Regel die komplette deutsche Spitze, auch in der Breite, vertreten ist, ist es eben was höherwertigeres und spannenderes für den deutschen Standardzuschauer als Lausanne, wo jetzt 5 Deutsche starten.
Und mit Holloway, Hodginkson, Ogunleye und der deutschen 4x100m Staffel ist das Istaf dieses Jahr sogar echt gut besetzt wie es aussieht und das obwohl zwei Tage vorher DL in Rom ist.
