Even Pace läßt sich bezogen auf die 800 m als die Idee umschreiben, bei einer optimalen mittleren Geschwindigkeit die Differenz zwischen der ersten und der zweiten Runde (den vier 200 m Abschnitten) nicht zu groß werden zu lassen. (Nicht bedeutet Even Pace, mit Verweis auf die Nutzung der verschiedenenen Energiesysteme im Verlauf des Rennens, vier exakt gleiche 200 m Abschnitte zu absolvieren).
Anders sieht dies aus bei längeren Rennen ab den 1500 m.
Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass Keely Hodgkinson uns demnächst in diesem Sinn ein nahezu perfekt aufgebautes 800 m Rennen zeigen wird. Aus ihren Bemerkungen über Rennverläufe ist zu schließen, dass sie ziemlich genau diese Gedanken bezüglich einer perfekten Renneinteilung über 800 m hat, dafür spricht auch, dass sie nicht eben wie ein Hasadeur anläuft.
