Und in einem theoretisch perfekten 800 m Rennen sollte diese recht drastische Einbuße auf den letzten 200 m minimiert werden. Und dies ist exakt die Crux, hier liegt der Hase im Pfeffer: Resultiert ein kleiner zeitlicher Gewinn daraus, dass man zuvor etwas langsamer läuft (hier etwas Zeit liegen läßt), dafür der Abfall zum Schluß aber geringer ist. Der zeitliche Verlust also mehr als aufgewogen wird. Genau dies ist eigentlich die Idee von Even Pace.
