Conclusio:
Hodgkinson sollte bei einem Weltrekordversuch die erste Runde knapp unter 56 angehen und dann das Tempo so gut wie möglich halten.
Für einen erreichbaren Weltrekord ist ihre 400 m Zeit nicht superschnell. Wie schon zurecht gesagt, ist die Schonzeit zu beachten. Bei einer 55,5 oder gar noch einen Tick schneller, wird sie das Tempo auf den letzten 200 m nicht halten können. Eine Schonzeit von nur 3,5 ist brutal und kann meist nur von 800 m / 1500 m Typen gestanden werden (was Hodgkinson nicht ist).
Die Aussagen von Peter Coe sind natürlich auch noch heute von großer Bedeutung, er hat in den mittleren Achtzigern intensiv mit dem amerikanischen Physiologen Dr. David Martin zusammengearbeitet.
