Die Kriterien des internationalen Verbandes sind inzwischen so hoch, dass diejenigen, die sie erfüllen, sich eine Teilnahme auch verdient haben. Man muss aber akzeptieren, dass es auch welche geben muss, die in Runde eins ausscheiden. Und das können eben auch Deutsche sein.
Die Alternative wäre, nur noch acht bis zwölf Starter generell bei Olympia zuzulassen, was gegen den Olympischen Gedanken ist und ich sehr schade fände.
Oder man misst mit zweierlei Maß: "Klar, es dürfen viele Athleten aus allen Nationen bei Olympia starten, die auch keine Finalchance haben. Aber bloß keine Deutschen, die diese Kriterien erfüllen."
Und irgendwie sind die Limiten jetzt für die Hallen-EM noch einmal weicher, wenn selbst in der Schweiz mehr Limiten geschafft werden, als Startplätze zur Verfügung stehen. Bei aller Freude über die neue Dichte im Sprint und Hürdenlauf, aber das ist schon erstaunlich.
