Ich hab mir mal die EM in Berlin raus genommen (da gab es keinen Überflieger, der Meilen vor dem Feld war) und habe ein wenig gerechnet. Grundlage waren die 4:30min (739Punkte) von Abele und dann habe ich die Rückstände vor der 1500m auf die Punkte von Abele addiert und darauf die Zeiten berechnet, die die Athleten rennen müssten um im Endergebnis die gleiche Punktzahl wie Abele zu erreichen. Von diesen Zeiten habe ich dann mal "Startdifferenzen" ermittelt. (Zur Einfachheit, alles auf volle Sekunden)

Shukerenyov 4:15min 15s
Zhuk 4:10min 20s
Kaul 3:54min 36s
Duckworth 4:15min 15s
Roe 3:57min 33s

(hier höre ich mal auf, weil wir bereits unter dem WR der Spezialisten sind)
Jetzt könnte jemand sagen, "zwischen dem ersten und den zehnten nur 1min Unterschied, das geht doch". Das ist aber nur so "wenig", weil die Punkte da oben ja exorbitant steigen, bei einer linearen Punktetabelle wäre das schon deutlich mehr. Und bei 1:07min ist Artur auch gerade die erste Runde rum, da läuft Cairoli gerade los. Sprich es sind 9 Athleten auf 400m "verteilt". Das sind im Schnitt alle 44m ein Athlet. Und das soll spannend sein? Na ich weiß nicht.
Und noch eins zum Nachdenken: Die Athleten Urena, Gado und Martin hatten vo der 1500m rund 500-600Punkte Rückstand auf Platz 15. Wie hoch ist die Motivation den Lauf zu starten, wenn der Athlet der im Klassement vor einem liegt, gerade auf die Zielgerade einbiegt? Gar nicht davon zu reden, dass der Führende schon ca. 4min im Ziel ist und sich feiern lässt. (Der kommt quasi mit der Fahne auf der Ehrenrunde schon vorbei und da darf man dann los laufen.) *Ironie an* Ja genau so stell ich mir ein fairen Wettstreit vor. *Ironie aus*
