Die Erfahrung die wir sammeln konnten: Es gibt durchaus Athleten die man mental festigen kann, alllerdings erachte ich das nur für notwendig, wenn ein Athlet/Athletin über einen längeren Zeitraum immer wieder mit den Nerven kämpft. Bei den Jugendlichen bis U20 muss man auch einfach akzeptieren, dass ein gewisser Lerneffekt gerade für große Events nötig ist! Ich halte es für wichtig, dass schon die Jüngern die Erfahrungen mit so einer großen Veranstaltung bekommen, mit ihrem besonderen Zeitschemata, ihren strengen Reglements (Callroom etc.), den langen Tagen mit Vor-, Zwischen- und Endläufen - viele sind das einfach nicht gewohnt. Bei den Einen baut so ein Event die Spannung richtig auf, bei anderen geht die Stimmung mit der Anspannung in den Keller, ob "Mentaltraining" da wirklich hilft?
Auch Reaktionszeiten kann man in gewissen Umfang optimieren - die "reine" Reaktionszeit ist allerdings genetisch "programmiert", die Reaktion selbst, bzw. den Start kann man allerdings oft deutlich verbessern.
Dies ist kin Plädoyer gegen ein Mentaltraining, aber wie viele andere Varianten im Training muss man auch hier einfach ausprobieren ob und wie ein Athlet darauf anspricht. (Bei einigen ist schon die Bereitschaft bestenfalls "widerwillig" mitzumachen…) Ich bin definitv ein Anhänger des individuellen Trainings - Leichtathletik ist keine Manschaftsportart und außer in der Staffel kämpft jeder für sich, sogar in einem Mannschaftswettbewerb! Es kann schon einen Motivationsschub geben, wenn man weiß, dass der Gegner maximal 2 Plätze besser sein darf, dass ist aber auch kein Zaubertrank (Einige arbeiten sehr intensiv mit Psychologen, es hilft aber bei weitem nicht allen, so einfach lässt sich ein Mensch nicht programmieren!)
