Es dürfte doch wohl klar sein, dass es hier nicht um die sportliche Leistung geht. Es geht darum ein deutliches Signal zu setzten, dass man die eminent wichtige Aufklärungsarbeit der Stepanovs dadurch ein kleines bißchen anerkennt (natürlich hätte sie noch viel mehr verdient als diese Kleinigkeit). Wenn sie starten will, soll sie starten dürfen, egal ob sie 100m hinterher rennt.

Das IOC signalisiert mit seiner Entscheidung sehr deutlich: Wir wollen keine Whistleblower!
