Natürlich wurde Stepanova weiter vom System beschützt. Sie konnte ihre Whistleblower-Informationen ja überhaupt nur deswegen sammeln, weil sie auch nach ihrem positiven Test ganz selbstverständlich vom russischen Verband weiter in die Sportförderung eingebunden war. Und nachdem sie das unter höchstem persönlichem Risiko genutzt hat, um Informationen zu sammeln, wird ihr jetzt daraus ein Strick gedreht.
Aber ein Tyson Gay, bei dem es tatsächlich so ist, dass er nach dem positiven Test keine andere Chance hatte, als seinen Trainer zu verpfeifen, um mit einer milden Strafe davonzukommen, wird in Rio dabei sein.

Der Antrag der Leichtathletin, beim Ringe-Spektakel im August als «neutrale» Athletin unter der olympischen Flagge antreten zu dürfen, lehnte das Internationale Olympische Komitee ab.
*Sie erfülle angesichts ihrer Doping-Vergangenheit trotz ihrer Verdienste um Aufklärung nicht die „ethischen Anforderungen“, teilte das IOC am Sonntag in Lausanne mit. Leichtathleten unter russischer Flagge dürfen in Rio nicht antreten.
*Totaler Unsinn, diese Begründung. Dann dürften ja wohl einige wegen ihrer (auch mehrfachen) Dopingverstöße 'wegen...nicht Erfüllung ihrer der ethischen Anforderungen' nicht starten. Und einige Funktionäre auch von der 'Anwesenheit' ausgeschlossen werden.....wegen Nichterfüllung ethischer Anforderungen' !
Für Frau Stepanova gelten die IWR-Regeln und Nominierungsvorschriften wie für alle TeilnehmerInnen. (Ausnahme gilt nur, wie schon bemerkt wurde, für einige 'kleine' Nationen). Wenn J. Stepanova (auch als Ex-Betrügerin) die Leistungsnorm für die OS erfüllt, dann kann sie meinetwegen starten.
Als Belohnung auf keinen Fall ! Das wäre nämlich ein eklatanter Regelverstoß.
