Wichtige Punkte:
- eine detaillierte Analyse der angeblich geheimen Blutwerte wurde von der IAAF bereits vor vier Jahren veröffentlicht (s. auch Beitrag von Delta weiter oben), die entsprechende Studie kann hier eingesehen werden
- große Teile der Daten wurden vor Einführung des biologischen Passes gesammelt und konnten daher nicht als Beweis für Doping verwendet werden. Die IAAF hat die Daten gesammelt, um trotzdem Zielkontrollen bei verdächtigen Athleten durchführen zu können, was auch in mehreren Fällen passiert ist und zu Sperren geführt hat
- aus Sicht der IAAF wäre es nach Veröffentlichung der Studie 2011 die Aufgabe der WADA gewesen, dafür zu sorgen, dass in den besonders betroffenen Ländern ein funktionierendes Anti-Doping-System aufgebaut wird. Die Reaktion der WADA auf den Seppelt-Bericht überrascht die IAAF, da die Fakten seit 2011 auch der WADA bekannt waren
- Die IAAF sieht sich als Vorreiter was die Doping-Bekampfung durch Verfolgung von Blutprofilen angeht
Interessanterweise geht die IAAF nur auf die Blutprofildatenbank ein. Zu den Dingen, die Seppelt in Russland und Kenia aufgedeckt hat keine Silbe.
