Zitat:Spanish citizen Rodrigue Kwizera, is being credited with a Spanish record of 58:03, but not a European record, even though the European record is Andreas Almgren‘s 58:06.Quelle: https://www.letsrun.com/news/2026/10/val...er-counts/
Kwizera, 27, was born in Burundi and became a Spanish citizen this summer but his transfer of allegiance hasn’t gone through with World Athletics as there is a three-year waiting period and he ran for Burundi at the 2023 Worlds, as the Spanish news agency EFE reported. But national federations can have their own rules regarding records and Spain is counting Kwizera’s mark as a Spanish record.
