World Athletics macht keine Unterschiede zwischen Hallen- und Freiluftleistungen mehr, wenn es um Persönliche Bestleistungen und Rekorde geht. Dann ist es nur folgerichtig, dass damit gleichzeitig auch die Beschränkung auf maximal zwei Hallenleistungen weggefallen ist. Ein kurzer Blick in die Weltranglisten zeigt, dass bei den fünf Leistungen eine Hallenleistung nicht mehr speziell als solche ausgewiesen wird. Simon Batz hat auch nachweislich bereits drei Hallenleistungen unter seinen fünf berücksichtigten Resultaten.
In den Weltranglistenregeln steht auch nur noch folgendes: "1.2.1.b) The environment of the competition will determine whether the outdoor or indoor scoring tables must be used." Die frühere Einschränkung der Zahl der anrechenbaren Hallenliestungen ist offensichtlich entfallen. Und das ist sehr positiv, weil es die Hallensaison aufwertet, ohne aber die Freiluftsaison mit ihren höher klassifizierten Wettbewerben in Mitleidenschaft zu ziehen. Es gab nie einen Grund, warum ein dritter 8-Meter-Weitsprung nicht gewertet werden konnte, nur weil er in der Halle stattgefunden hat.
