Unser Fördersystem funktioniert aus meiner Sicht von der falschen Seite aus gedacht. Damit meine ich, dass das bisschen was denn an Unterstützung existiert - finanziell, Physiotherapie (als Bundeskader) usw. immer erst dann greift, wenn bereits ein nationales Spitzenlevel in der AK erreicht wurde. Und je älter desto schwerer - da fliegen ja im Anschlussbereich dann sehr viele aus der Förderung. Wir reden also je Disziplin über eine Hand voll Athleten. Um dort hin zu kommen, muss also leistungssportlich trainiert werden - und das ist auch wenn man alles richtig macht, Prophylaxe betreibt, technisch sauber und sinnvoll arbeitet - immer ein Gang im Grenzbereich. Und da liegt doch schon der Fehler. Es soll Leistungssport betrieben werden - im Sinne des Trainings, aber nicht im Sinne aller anderen Leistungsfaktoren und Maßnahmen die dafür nötig sind. Denn die stehen i.d.R. dann nicht zur Verfügung.
Ich versuche mal ein synonymes Bild (vielleicht nicht das Beste): Das ist in etwa so als wenn ich einem Schüler den Deutschlehrer erst dann zur Verfügung stelle, wenn er bereits besonders herausragend lesen kann.
Dazu vielleicht ein Ansatzpunkt. Das oft als "Belohnungssystem" kritisierte Verfahren greift nicht nur bei einzelnen Athleten, sondern bei ganzen Regionen. Wir haben derzeit eine Reihe (im Grunde sogar sehr viele, weshalb nicht von Zentralisierung gesprochen werden kann) Bundesstützpunkte. Die sind, wo sie sind, weil dort mal eine Ballung an guten Sportlern vorlag. Als "Belohung" gibt es vor Ort Stützpunktrainer und/oder es werden weitere Bundestrainer angesiedelt. Es gibt aber keine – abgesehen eben vom Personal – begründbare Schlussfolgerung, warum ein in z.B. Leverkusen zur Schule gehendes Kind grundsätzlich in den kommenden Jahren mehr Talent mitbringen soll, als eines in Kiel. Aufgrund der von den Verbänden gestellten (personellen) Infrastruktur (zum Teil leisten sich vermeintliche Top-Vereine den Luxus gar keine Trainer selbst anzustellen, weil alle Topathleten bei Bundes- oder Landestrainern vor Ort trainieren!) bleiben die Standorte meist auch "erfolgreicher" als andere. Würden wir aber wirklich Fördern und nicht Belohnen müssten Stützpunkte und Stellen nach Potential verteilt werden, was im Bereich nachwuchs eigentlich bedeutet: Wie viele potentielle Leichtathleten sind im Einzugsgebiet von sagen wir einer Stunde Auto/Zugfahrt?!
