Das ist gemessen an 1985 biederer Durchschnitt selbst auf Deutschem Laufniveau.Soviel Unsinn auf einem Haufen liest man selten. Was hat Markus Ryffel mit den angeblich fehlenden Erfolgen von Gabius zu tun? Seine 5000m PB ist die einzige, die er in Belgien lief, im Jahr davor lief er beim DL Meeting in Oslo aber schon eine 13:13. Ryffel hatte übrigens eine 1500m PB von 3:38.6, als Vorbild nicht unbedingt geeignet.
Tatsache ist, der Langstreckenlauf steckt in ganz Europa in der Krise, 1978 wurde man mit 27:41 ACHTER bei der EM, 2014 wäre man mit der Zeit drittschnellster Europäer.
Der Vergleich mit den 80er Jahren hängt sehr, da könnte man genauso ein schlechtes Sprintniveau bei den Frauen konstruieren, weil niemand mehr 10.80er Zeiten läuft.
Und weil das Jahr 1985 als Beispiel genannt wurde (warum eigentlich), hier die Bestenliste dieses Jahres:
