Ratingen - Quo vadis? - Reloaded
Mit ein paar Tagen Abstand hier nochmal ein Versuch das diesjährige Stadtwerke Meeting im Vergleich zu den Konkurrenz-Veranstaltungen einzuordnen. Während das vorgezogene 2022er Meeting durch die leider notwendig gewordene Terminwahl benachteiligt war, lief 2023 eigentlich alles für Ratingen: das zeitgleiche Arona-Meeting fiel quasi aus, das Wetter passte und die Zuschauer kamen.
In Zahlen: Beim wichtigen Competition Performance Ranking verbesserte man sich auf den derzeit 3. Rang (natürlich klar hinter Götzis und der Hallen-EM, die u.a. vom Thiam-WR profitierte).
- Mit einem Score von 9715 lag man allerdings sogar höher als Talence22!!!
- Die anderen bislang ausgetragenen WA-CE-Tour Meetings liegen deutlich zurück:
(Tallin-indoor 9377 "B"/ Aubiere-Indoor 9255 "B"/ Mt. SAC 9224 "B" / GardaStars 9178 "A" / Montpellier 8786 "C" )
- Zu dem hohen Score haben vor allem die Ergebnisse beim 10Kampf beigetragen. Von den Frauen fand lediglich Schäfer Berücksichtigung Competition Performance Ranking - Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf-Meeting, Stadionring, Ratingen (worldathletics.org)
- Hilfreich war auch der sehr hohe "Participation Score", Thiam und Oosterwegel sei dank.
- Sehr gut auch das "Beiwerk", LiveStream/Ergebnislinks etc. Die vielen engagierten Volunteers. Wenn jetzt noch die Website etwas informativer gestaltet wird (ist ja schon durchaus besser geworden) und man vor allem proaktiver mit Stories/Einbindung Presse sowie den TN-Listen umgeht, ist fast alles in Ordnung.
Ausblick
Noch stehen mit Bydgoscsz (A) und Talence (GL) zwei Meetings der Tour aus. Da noch etliche Rekonvaleszenten Listenpunkte brauchen, dürfte das Feld in Polen auch hochkarätig werden (Insbesondere bei den Frauen?). Talence dürfte dagegen unter der späten WM leiden, zumal die Topstars schon langsam das Augenmerk auf Paris24 richten.
- Ratingen wird für 24 den Cat. A Status definitiv halten (Eher kommt Talence mit GL noch unter Druck)
- Hat aber für 2024 erneut ein Terminproblem: Rom24 vom 7.-12.Juni / Götzis24 wurde bereits auf 18./19.Mai vorgezogen./ Talence24 auf 14./15. Sep. /// Da bleibt dann nur der Anfang Juli??? Aber das ist ziemlich nah an den OG (DECA ab 2.Aug.)
- Mit Blick auf die WA-IndoorWM 24 in Glasgow dürften die Hallenmeetings in Tallin sowie Aubiere gut besetzt sein, eventuell zeichnet sich da eine Höherstufung auf A ab?
- Der DLV wäre m.E. gut beraten, frühzeitig einen Termin für Ratingen zu fixieren sowie die Nominierungsrichtlinien 2024 deutlich früher als zuletzt zu beschließen. So wie in 2023 vorgegangen wurde, empfinde ich es als eher unglücklich (oder sollte man sagen ungeschickt?). So hat es ja im Zusammenhang mit der Hallen-EM23 hinter den Kulissen schon Unzufriedenheit gegeben. Dann sind die dt. Nominierungstermine WM/U23-EM und U20EM (sind nicht stimmig mit den Qualizeiträumen der Veranstaltungen) nicht gerade geschickt gewählt. Das kann man im Interesse der Sportler durchaus besser machen!
