Eins muss man aber auch Hingsen und Thompson zugestehen, sie haben ihren Sport absolut professionell absolviert, bei einigen heutigen Athleten vermisst man da ein wenig den Biss im Training, insbesondere ohne Kameras und Publikum…
Thompson war guter Psychologe, er hat die Machtspielchen, die auch davor immer gespielt wurden, sehr gut beherrscht - aber alles im Rahmen. Es war aber auch die Zeit, in der die Medien anfingen darauf einzusteigen ("Hollywood-Hingsen", insbesondere in GB).
Heute sucht die LA nicht einfach nur Top-Athleten, sondern einen "Usain Bolt", ein Top Athlet, ein begnadeter Schauspieler und ein absolut kameratauglicher Typ. Sport braucht für viele Zuschauer mittlerweile auch "Geschichten", man muss nur in andere Sportarten hineinschauen um zu sehen was da für Unsinn abgelassen wird. (Ist z.B. die Frisur eines Fußballers wirklich wichtig für den Sport???)
lor-olli ist alt, dann schon lieber einen Kaul - aber der kommt für viele Junge eben schon "alt" rüber, einfach weil er schon so abgeklärt wirkt…
