Ich kenne eigentlich keine Siebenkämpferin, die jemals absolute Weltspitze war, die über die Ausdauer kam. So wie die Disziplinen im 7-Kampf gesetzt sind, gibt es für eine verbesserte Ausdauer doch kaum mehr Punkte zu gewinnen. Klar, dass die Eltern von Kaul den Ansatz, mehr über die Ausdauer zu kommen, propagieren: Niklas Kaul ist eher langsam und nicht gerade überragend in seinen Kraftwerten. Carolin Schäfer ist doch ganz anders aufgestellt: Eher kräftig und sprintstark, also grundsätzlich für den Mehrkampf eigentlich besser ausgestattet als Kaul. Trainiert Schäfer nun ähnlich wie Kaul, ist dies methodisch natürlich der völlig falsche Ansatz und beschleunigt nur den Niedergang von Carolin Schäfer. Stattdessen müsste sie natürlich weiter ihre Stärken im Training forcieren, also wieder verstärkt auf das Training ihrer Schnelligkeit setzen. Es macht fast schon traurig zu sehen, wie sie auf den 200 m rumgurkt und im Weitsprung vergleichsweise nur noch kleine Hüpfer in die Grube bringt. So wird eine erfolgreiche Athletin ruiniert.
