Ich denke, er ist genau da, wo er zu diesem Zeitpunkt der Saison sein will/muss. Nur 2018 war er früh in der Saison signifikant besser und da hat er auf die Commonwealth Games im April gepeakt.
2018 gab es keinen "globalen" Freilufthöhepunkt. Entsprechend wurde auf die Hallen-WM in Birmingham (22,31 m) Anfang März und die besagten CW im April orientiert. Zwischen HWM und CWG hat er damals einige neuseeländische Meetings bestritten und hohes Niveau nachgewiesen. Im Sommer hat er die DL Meetings fokussiert und das DL Finale in Zürich mit 22,60 m und damaligem DL Rekord gewonnen.
Dale Stevenson setzt stark auf exzentrisches Krafttraining. Bei dieser Form muss man zwangsläufig mit Residualeffekten planen und zeitweise "Leistungshemnung" in Kauf nehmen, um dann mit hohem zeitversatz peaken zu können. Das schöne daran ist aber auch, dass die Trainingseffekte länger erhalten bleiben.
