Man merkt immer mehr die Verschiebung der Leichtathletik in Richtung USA. Mittlerweile sind oft die besten Nachwuchstalente an US-Hochschulen. Das wirft einerseits die Frage auf, wie wir mehr Leute auch hier fördern und begeistern können, da wir andernfalls zur Randsportart werden, für die man "weggehen muss", so wie es in einigen Sportarten schon lange der Fall ist, andererseits aber auch über die "Bedeutung" von Vereinen.
Konkret: Ist es richtig, wenn z.B. Landesrekorde an Athleten gehen, die in den USA trainieren, starten etc. nur weil sie noch ein Startrecht für einen deustchen Verein haben? Im Extremfall könnten das ja Athleten sein, die ihr Leben lang nie auch nur eine Einheit in dem Verein, dem Trikot und dem Land gemacht haben, theoretisch müssten sie sogar nie die USA verlassen haben. Das wird auch bei den Deutschen Bestenlisten und dem Vereinsranking zunehmend zum Problem, weil das die tatsächliche Leistungsfähigkeit von Vereinen und Landesverbänden doch deutlich verzerrt.
Ich denke es ist eine Art Reform notwendig. Denkbar wäre z.B. dass die NCAA-Athleten ähnlich wie in Dt. Startberechtigte Deutsche unterhalb der regulären Bestenliste/Rekorde geführt werden als "von Athleten mit Doppel-Startrecht im Rahmen ihres anderem Startrechts erbrachte Leistungen"
