Ich verstehe diese "Anbetung" von Mayer nicht ganz. Er hat bei den letzten beiden großen Meisterschaften schon gefloppt und wird in Tokio fast 30 sein. Seine Bestleistung bei einem großen Event ist 8832, das sind nur 141 Punkte mehr als Kaul in Doha hatte. Die meisten Mehrkämpfer (Eaton, Sebrle, Dvorak, O'Brien) erreichen ihren Peak mit 26 oder 27. unter dem Strich würde es mich extremst wundern, wenn Mayer in Tokio über 8800 Punkte erreichen würde. Kaul sollte angesichts seines Alters in Tokio über 8800 Punkte machen. Ohne die Operation hätte ich Kaul als klaren Favoriten gesehen, aber dank der OP habe ich keine Ahnung, wie seine Chancen bei Olympia einzuschätzen sind.
