Ich will einmal mehr die These in den Raum stellen, dass wir insbesondere in Disziplinen zu knabbern haben, in denen die Teilnehmerbegrenzungen bei Deutschen Meisterschaften uns die Breite wegsaugen und zwar da ganz besonders diejenigen, für die es auch wenige attraktive Wettbewerbe überhaupt gibt. In den technischen Wettbewerben sind es 14 Startplätze bei der DM. Wer auf den Bestenlistenplätzen 8 bis 16 rangiert läuft große Gefahr trotz Qualileistung nicht zum Saisonhöhepunkt, der meist einzige Wettkampf der ein bisschen Stimmung und Publikum hat, zugelassen zu werden. Das bedeutet für viele Ausgangs der U20/U23, dass sie die Mühen nicht mehr in Kauf nehmen und es lieber lassen. Einige davon wären vielleicht in den Jahren drauf richtung Platz zwei, drei oder vier in Deutschland aufgestiegen. Und selbst wenn nicht, brechen mit ihnen Trainingsgruppen, Trainingspartner und manchmal auch das Engagement von Trainern weg..
Ein ähnliches Phänomen haben wir in den Mittelstrecken und den 400 Metern. Hier gibt es für viele mittlerweile auch nur noch zwei Arten von Wettkampf: Welche, in denen man nicht in das Teilnehmerfeld kommt, wo aber was los ist und welche, wo keine Stimmung herrscht, man meilenweit der Konkurrenz enteilt, aber immerhin starten darf...
Im Kurzsprint gibt es die Probleme nicht, da werden im Vergleich duzende der Dritten Reihe zugelassen. Und es gibt zur "Not" noch die 200m.
Klar kann man jetzt sagen: Aber es schaffen ja nicht einmal genug die B-Norm in einigen Disziplinen. Das stimmt. Ich würde aber sagen, dass ist schon eine Folge der Tatsache, dass es eine B-Norm und keine sichere Zulassung ist.
Für mehr Breite und daraus resultierender breiteren Spitze brauchen wir mehr Teilnehmende bei Deutschen Meisterschaften und abseits der Deutschen Meisterschaften noch mehr Wettkämpfe, die eine Atmosphäre bieten, dass Sportler sagen "dafür mache ich das!"
Übrigens hat man wieder gesehen, dass Qualifikationen und mehrere Runden durchaus auch der absoluten Spitze dienlich sind. Fast wären alle Weitspringerinnen in der Quali rausgeflogen. im Diskus das gleiche Problem. Auch Ogunleye war knapp vor dem Aus. Die 400- und 800-Meter-Läufer:innen hatten viele Starts in einer Woche. Das darf man auch mal auf nationaler Bühne "trainieren".
