Kevin Kranz: Speziell dafür machen wir jetzt nichts. Das war ein Problem, das wir uns selbst eingebrockt hatten. Ich hatte eine Woche vor meinem letzten Hallen-Wettkampf einen neuen Spike ausprobiert, so einen mit einer kompletten Carbonplatte. Das hatte sich zunächst zwar sehr gut angefühlt, hat im Endeffekt aber dafür gesorgt, dass ich mir das Sesambein gebrochen habe im Fuß. Jetzt benutze ich wieder ganz normale Spikes und somit dürfte das nicht noch mal passieren. Jetzt wird nichts mehr ausprobiert, keine Bouncer und keine Spikes mit Carbonplatte.
Es gibt Fußformen, die geradezu eine Sesamoiditis und dann Frakturen begünstigen. Bevor man solche Sachen ausprobiert, sollte man sich die Athletenfüße als Trainer sehr genau ansehen. Zudem ist man sehr darauf bedacht, die Schuhe mit so geringem Gewicht wie nur möglich zu versehen, womit der Schutz wahrscheinlich vollkommen bei den einwirkenden Kräften ausbleibt. Einerseits verursacht dann das vielleicht herumschwirrende, abgebrochene Stück Schmerzen und der flexor hallucis longus verliert die ursprüngliche Führungsrinne. Es kann sein, dass der Fuß stark in die Überpronation abrutscht und die Plantarfaszie entsprechend in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wird. Dazu kommt oft das sehr defizitäre oder falsche Fußtraining. Wenn man solche harten Schuhe einsetzt, sollte man die entsprechenden Fußstrukturen enorm gut präparieren. Das wirkt sicherlich nicht mit einer Woche Vorlaufzeit.

Da hast du gleichzeitig eine Ex-Dreispringerin und Orthopädin in einer Person. Ihre Schwester (Berit Eigenherr) praktiziert als Physiotherapeutin (Master-Abschluss und zertifizierte Osteopathin und Heilpraktikerin irgendwo im Hamburger Raum). Sie arbeitet stark im LA-Bereich. Ihre Eltern und ich sind seit 1968 (OS Mexiko) befreundet.
